Allegri

Gregorio Allegri was an Italian Baroque composer who wrote in the conservative Renaissance style mandated by the church. His music is reminiscent of Palestrina. His entire life was lived in Rome. Allegri composed vocal and choral music for the church and some early examples of compositions for stringed instruments, including a string quartet, possibly the earliest ever.
