Lassen

Eduard Lassen (1830 – 1904) was a Danish composer and conductor who lived and worked in Belgium for the majority of his career. In the course of his musical career, he served as the music director at the court in Weimar, and had moderate success as a composer.

Lassen composed music in several stylistic mediums, including: opera; lieder; choral; solo and symphonic works. His most significant contributions to music are his works for solo voice and piano, especially his art songs, which utilize elements of both German and Belgian folk music.
