Millar
Cam Millar has had a diverse and active career as a composer both in the USA and his native Canada. At home in many musical genres, he has been commissioned and composed for string orchestra, concert band, brass band, classical guitar, modern dance, chamber groups, film scores, figure skating, jazz, equestrian riders, and multi-media works.
Previous music/soundscores have been heard at Dance Theatre Workshop (NY), Wave Hill (NY), Merce Cunningham Studios (NY), The Yard (MA) and on the ice at Rockefeller Ctr (NY) and Chelsea Piers (NY) for productions by the Ice Theatre of New York. Film music has been heard on PBS, and atTelluride Film Fest., Atlanta Film Fest., New York Women in Film Fest., and the San Francisco Native American Film Festival.
Cam recently composed music for the Toronto CNE’s (Canada) acclaimed “HorsePower Live” family horse show in addition to other equestrian projects such as theme music for the Royal Winter Fair (Toronto), the Palgrave Equestrian Center (Toronto), andthe RAM Rodeo (Ontario).
His M.Mus. Studio Composition is from SUNY Purchase College, and he has a B.Mus. in Trombone Performance from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
