Pannacci

Flavio Pannacci is a trombone player active in symphony orchestras, chamber music and early music performances.

He got his bachelor’s degree in 2016 at Conservatory of Perugia (IT), winning the “Roscini Prize” as best final recital of the year.

After that he moved to Germany, where he studied orchestral performance and chamber music with Abbie Conant (ex 1.trombone Munich Phil.) at Musikhochschule Trossingen where he graduated in 2023 with best marks cum laude.

He is currently based in Basel, studying at Hochschule für Müsik Basel/Schola Cantorum Basiliensis where he is specializing in early music performance in the class of Catherine Motuz.

Orchestra activity:
He appeared as freelancer in many orchestras such as: Orchestra Sinfonica “Rossini” of Pesaro, Orchestra Sinfonica “Carlo Coccia” of Novara, Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, Teatro “Galpon”(Ginevra), I Fiati di Parma, Berliner Opergruppe, Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, Luzern Festival Contemporary Orchestra and many others.

Chamber music:
He founded the brass quintet “Billi Brass Quintet” in December 2012.
Its activity includes the Spoleto “Festival dei 2 Mondi”, the Stresa Festival, the International competition Prix Italia 2018 (Capri, the live concert was broadcasted by Rai Radio Classica), the Chigiana Summer Festival & Academy (Siena), the Castel Rigone International Festival for Young Performers (Perugia), Giardini La Mortella (Ischia, Naples), the VII and X edition of Eolie in Classico (Messina), the XVI International Puppet Festival The Golden Dolphin (Varna, Bulgaria), the Festival Balade Cévenole avec Maurice André (Saint-André-Capcèze, France) and the Festival delle Nazioni (Perugia).
In April 2016 the Billi Brass Quintet won the first place at the 8th International Music competition for young musicians in Treviso .
The group also participated to the selection for the final round of the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in July 2019.
