Pollack

Lew Pollack, born in New York City, was a songwriter extraordinaire who leaped to fame in 1914 with his new Ragtime song That's A Plenty. He started off as a singer and pianist for vaudeville acts and then performed and composed for the silent movies. Over the years he became a household name, writing movie scores first for silent movies and then for the new sound films in Hollywood. Pollack was elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970

He died in Hollywood at the age of 50 in 1946.
