Tailleferre

Born in 1892, Germaine Tailleferre, a French composer, was the only female member of the group known as Les Six. Her name at birth was Marcelle Taillefesse, but she changed her name to spite her father who was not supportive of her musical career.

She spent a lot of time studying with Ravel, who encouraged her career. Tailleferre had a long and prolific composing career with over 200 works to her credit.
