Tartini

Giuseppe Tartini was born in 1692 in Piran, a small town on the Adriatic coast of what is now Slovenia. He began studying music at an early age and quickly demonstrated prodigious talent as a violinist. In his late teens, he moved to Venice to continue his studies, where he became acquainted with some of the leading composers and performers of the day.

Tartini's career as a performer and composer took off in the early 18th century, when he moved to Padua and established himself as a leading figure in the musical world. He composed over 200 works for the violin, including concertos, sonatas, and variations, and his innovative use of harmonics and ornamentation earned him a reputation as one of the most skilled and inventive violinists of his time.
